Traditional reference checks have a built-in bias problem: the founder picks who you call. You mostly hear from people who'll say something good. Potentia takes a different approach — instead of asking someone else about the founder, it looks at the founder's own real activity, with their explicit consent.
Reference calls are still useful for things a data connection can't tell you — how someone handles conflict, what they're like under pressure. Potentia isn't trying to replace that conversation; it's the part you'd otherwise have to reconstruct manually from public digging, done faster and with the founder's knowledge instead of without it.
