What a Public Footprint Check can and can't tell you

6 April 2026

The Public Footprint Check is deliberately the lightest tool on the platform: a free, public-web search across whatever's already indexed about a founder, with an estimated public-signal score — not the real Growth Readiness Score, and explicitly labeled as such.

Its honest limitation is right there in how it works: it can only see what's already indexed. A founder with a thin or recently-scrubbed public footprint will show up as "not much here" regardless of how strong or weak they actually are — that's a gap in the search index, not a finding about the founder.

Used correctly, it's a fast first pass, not a conclusion. The natural next step for anyone the footprint check flags as worth a closer look is the real thing: a consent-based request the founder actually agrees to and participates in, which sees their real connected data instead of whatever a search engine happened to crawl.

See how a consent-based check actually works.
